Licensing in one paragraph. Pexels images are royalty-free under the Pexels License — use commercially, modify, even resell derivatives, no attribution required (it's appreciated, not mandatory). Unsplash images are royalty-free under the Unsplash License but the company asks that you credit the photographer when you can — usually just *"Photo by NAME on Unsplash"* with both names linked. Neither license permits selling the photos themselves as stock, or using them in ways that look like endorsements by the people in them. Both are fine for blog images, social posts, mockups, slides, and most editorial use.
